Each year in in Cusco, between the months of May and September, thousands of children, youth and adults in high Andean communities suffer the effects of extreme cold. In these communities, more than 3,700 meters above sea level, there is a notably higher incidence of pneumonia and acute respiratory infections (ARI).

On June 21st, thanks to the help of Banco de Crédito del Perú, Cementos Sur SA, the Spanish foundation Zabalketa and the good will of many other people, a delivery of warm clothing was made in the community of Coya, Sihua district, Province of Calca, Cusco region. In regards to this issue, parish priest Father Octavio Casafranca Mamani, noted the importance of this type of community outreach support that institutions undertaken for the benefit of low-income families.
